Fangone Forest boss Alien Skin has revealed that his reduced activity in Uganda’s music industry is largely because he is concentrating on his private business and performing outside Kampala.

Speaking to Sanyuka TV after attending singer Mesach Semakula’s press conference, Alien Skin disclosed that he is among the finest mechanics in Makindye, although he only works on his own vehicles and does not offer mechanical services to other people.

The singer jokingly rated himself highly among mechanics in his area, saying, “I am not the best mechanic in Makindye, but I am the last person you would look for when you need one.”

Alien Skin also explained that his decision to perform more outside Kampala is informed by the different audience dynamics in the city. He noted that Kampala audiences have varying musical preferences, making it difficult to satisfy everyone at once, unlike audiences outside the capital, where he can bring different categories of fans together during stadium performances.

The singer further expressed his support for Semakula, whom he described as someone who has contributed significantly to the community and deserves recognition for his work.

He revealed that he had purchased a table worth Shs5 million to support the legendary singer and would attend the event without necessarily performing. However, he added that he would be willing to take the stage if fans requested him to perform.

On the state of Uganda’s music industry, Alien Skin suggested that the scene was currently lacking top musicians, adding that he had moved beyond the campaign season and was now focused on service delivery.

“I am done with campaigns. I am now in my office doing service delivery,” he remarked, explaining why he has not been as visible in the music industry recently.
