  • Despite the dispute, Cindy says the incident will not affect her legacy or her willingness to support fellow artistes.

Musician Cindy Sanyu has revealed that fellow singer Omega 256 only made her a beneficiary of their hit collaboration after all the money generated from the song had already been withdrawn.

The two artistes have in the past few days been at the center of public discussion after separately appearing on Galaxy FM and sharing conflicting accounts regarding the ownership and earnings from their successful collaboration.

According to Cindy, public pressure eventually pushed Omega 256 into adding her as a beneficiary of the song. However, she insists the move came too late because there was no money left to share.

“Now it’s 50/50 with no money because she has withdrawn all the money,” Cindy said.

The singer explained that when the song was uploaded to digital streaming platforms, Omega allegedly used her own contact details as both the primary account holder and collaborator contact. As a result, all notifications regarding earnings were reportedly sent directly to Omega.

Additionally, Cindy claims she remained unaware of the arrangement for months, believing she would eventually receive notifications whenever revenue was generated from the song.

“She has been getting 100% of the money. After emptying all the accounts, that’s when she sent me a spreadsheet,” she alleged.

Despite the disagreement, Cindy says she does not regret supporting Omega 256’s career. The singer revealed that she invested her time, resources and influence into the collaboration, including promotion and production expenses.

However, she hopes the situation serves as a lesson within the music industry.

“I wanted other people to know that there are evil people in this industry. Sometimes you help someone out of the goodness of your heart and they end up hurting you,” she said.
