Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), has confirmed that the copyright and royalty dispute between Hoozambe D Star and Mudra D Viral over the Hoozambe Remix has officially been resolved.

According to him, professionals were brought in to review the earnings generated from the song and their findings revealed that Mudra had not even received “2%” of the alleged Shs 140 million that had been widely discussed during the disagreement.

Following the review, the two artists reportedly reached a new agreement concerning royalty sharing and ownership rights attached to the remix.

Kenzo explained that the matter was handled professionally, allowing both sides to understand exactly what belongs to them after a detailed examination of the project’s finances and contributions.

“The two artists have even apologized to each other over the harsh words they said out of frustration and anger and now everything is fully sorted and they both will be seen performing together on the same stage,” Eddy Kenzo said.

He further added that although he cannot publicly reveal the details contained in the new contracts, both artists are now fully aware of who owns what percentage and how the royalties will be distributed moving forward.

The development brings an end to the public fallout that had surrounded the Hoozambe Remix, with fans now expected to once again see D Star and Mudra D Viral sharing the stage together.
