Musician and Big Talent Entertainment boss Eddy Kenzo has opened up about the growing public discussion surrounding the political future of his wife, Phiona Nyamutoro, saying he believes leadership and destiny go hand in hand.

Prior to the selection of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Parliament for the current term, political conversations had emerged suggesting that the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) could front Nyamutoro for the Deputy Speaker position as part of efforts to create gender balance in leadership.

Although the speculation did not materialise, Nyamutoro retained her roles as State Minister for Energy and Mineral Development (Minerals) and Woman Member of Parliament for Nebbi District.

Speaking about the matter, Kenzo said public opinion and belief often shape future realities, noting that people sometimes speak destiny into existence.

“People have their own thoughts and theories, and sometimes what they believe can manifest into reality,” Kenzo said.

The award-winning singer stressed that leadership positions are ultimately determined by destiny and divine purpose. According to him, if becoming Speaker of Parliament is part of Nyamutoro’s path, then it will happen at the right time.

“God knows everyone’s destiny before they are created. If that is her calling, it will surely come to pass,” he added.

For now, Kenzo says Nyamutoro remains committed to serving the country in her current leadership roles. The “Sitya Loss” hitmaker expressed confidence in his wife’s future, describing her as a leader with strong potential and a promising political journey ahead.

While talk of the Speaker’s office remains speculative, Kenzo believes Nyamutoro’s story in public service is still unfolding.
