Media personality and actress Florence Nampijja has shared why she finds it uncomfortable when people ask women why they have not yet given birth.

Speaking during an interview with Faridah Nakazibwe, Florence explained that such questions can be insensitive because people often do not know the personal circumstances behind a woman’s journey to motherhood.

According to Florence, some women may have spent years trying to conceive without success, while others could be dealing with medical conditions that make it difficult to have children.

“You could find when this woman has been looking for a child all her life but couldn’t find it,” she said, noting that fertility challenges are a reality many women face.

She further explained that in some cases, it may simply not be the right time for a woman to become a mother. Florence believes that everyone has their own plans and timelines in life, and these should be respected rather than questioned.

“You might find when it’s just not yet the right time for the woman to give birth,” she said, emphasizing that people make personal decisions based on their individual circumstances.

Florence revealed that she has personally faced the same question countless times and has become accustomed to hearing it. However, she maintains that it is an inappropriate question that often frustrates her.

Reflecting on her own situation, Florence disclosed that motherhood had not previously been among her priorities. She now feels ready to embrace that chapter of her life and says the next step is finding a suitable partner.

“Personally, it has not been a priority for me but now I feel I’m ready and it is the right time for me to have a child,” she said.
