“We sang a song titled Hallelujah which was entirely in English but it didn’t do well,” they said.

Kataleya and Kandle also opened up about an EP they released featuring several Rwandan artists, revealing that the project also struggled to gain traction because they did not have enough money to promote it.

“The target audience for that EP needed about billions and we didn’t have money to push that music,” they said.

The singers explained that their plan was for the EP to reach audiences across East Africa, but the lack of a strong promotional budget made it difficult to achieve the intended reach.

Despite the setback, the duo continue to build their music career, with Luganda remaining a major part of their sound and identity.
