Zuena Kirema, the wife of Ugandan singer Bebe Cool, has urged young people to stop constantly begging for money on social media, encouraging them to work and find ways of earning a living.

Zuena made the remarks during a TikTok live session while interacting with fans and promoting her clothing and food products.

She appeared frustrated by the growing habit of people turning to celebrities and other public figures for financial assistance during social media live sessions.

“Stop begging people, please, especially you young people. We cannot be here with you begging for help all the time.”

Zuena noted that many people, including those being asked for money, are also working hard to make ends meet.

“Even me who you are asking, I’m here working. We wake up as early as 7 to look for money and then you come on our live feeds asking for money.”

She further challenged young people to embrace work rather than relying on handouts from celebrities and social media personalities.

Her comments come amid growing complaints from public figures about persistent requests for money, airtime, school fees and other forms of assistance through social media.
