Ugandan musician Grace Nakimera says her recent sold-out concert at Serena Hotel has reignited her appetite for live performances, with the veteran singer now calling on promoters to give her more opportunities to take the stage.

The Kawonawo singer recently filled the luxurious five-star venue as fans turned up to celebrate her music and career. Speaking to Sanyuka TV after the show, Nakimera said the concert reminded her of the energy and excitement she once had for performing before a live audience.

According to the singer, the experience has left her wanting more concerts and bigger stages.

“I felt that vigor I used to have come back. Now I am thirsty and hungry for more,” she said.

She also urged promoters to book her for more shows, adding that the possibility of performing at an even bigger venue is already on the table.

“This show was successful, and I thank all the sponsors and fans who came through to support me,” she said.

Nakimera also addressed discussions about her music being increasingly associated with gospel. The singer said she is not bothered by such categorisation because she considers herself an artist whose music can cross different boundaries.

She explained that she was able to perform both her secular and gospel songs during the Serena concert, insisting that she is simply an artist blessed by God.

On the absence of some gospel musicians, Nakimera pointed to disagreements and judgement within the industry. She, however, appreciated Pastor Wilson Bugembe and her personal pastor for attending and supporting her.

For now, Nakimera appears ready to return to the stage, with fans waiting to see whether another concert could be announced soon.
