House of Prayer International Ministries lead pastor, Aloysius Bujjingo, has stirred debate after sharing his candid views on what he would do if he discovered a large sum of money in his garden.

Speaking during a church sermon, Bujjingo said he would not report the money to local authorities, arguing that he would consider it a miracle and a possible answer to his prayers.

“Maybe that is how God has chosen to answer my prayers. I believe in miracles, and I would take it as one.”

The outspoken pastor admitted that while he considers himself a born-again Christian who expects to go to heaven, returning such money would be a test he believes he could not pass.

Bujjingo explained that he distinguishes between cash found on his property and money mistakenly deposited into his bank account. According to him, an unexplained bank deposit would require him to notify the bank because he knows he did not put the money there. However, he argued that money discovered in his garden would be different.

“I am the manager of my garden. If I find money there, then it belongs to me.”

He went on to say that even if authorities later arrested the person who had hidden or lost the money, he would not come forward to admit that he had found it. His remarks were met with cheers and laughter from members of the congregation.

Outside the church, however, the comments have generated mixed reactions. Many critics have described the position as morally questionable, with some arguing that keeping money whose owner is unknown amounts to theft. Others viewed the remarks as a humorous illustration rather than a literal position.
