Veteran Ugandan singer Juliana Kanyomozi has revealed that she no longer feels any pressure to follow modern music trends or jump onto popular sounds like Amapiano.

Speaking about the current music generation on Capital FM Uganda, Juliana explained that she believes this is the younger artists’ moment to shine and she is happy watching them express themselves freely through their craft.

“I think I’m beyond that,” she said while addressing whether she feels pressured to keep up with trending sounds dominating the industry today.

Juliana added that she respects how the new generation is handling music in their own unique way and has never compared herself to them.

“I feel like it’s their time and they’re doing their thing the way they feel it’s right for them at the moment,” she explained.

The celebrated vocalist also shared her admiration for the current wave of young creatives, noting that she enjoys listening to their music and loves seeing female deejays commanding major stages.

According to Juliana, watching the younger generation thrive makes her proud rather than competitive.

She further revealed some of the new-generation artists currently on her playlist, mentioning Elijah Kitaka, Ava Peace and Tracy Melon as some of the artistes whose work she genuinely enjoys.
