Minister of State for Local Government Hon. Justine Nameere has advised former NTV news anchor Faridah Nakazibwe to seek closure from her former husband, Omar Ssali, following a renewed exchange between the two women.

Nameere and Nakazibwe have previously been involved in a public disagreement that eventually appeared to cool down. However, the issue resurfaced recently after Nameere threatened legal action against a woman she accused of defaming her.

In her response on social media, Nakazibwe reminded the woman that she too had once been sued by Nameere but allegedly failed to appear in court.

Speaking about the matter once again, Nameere dismissed the renewed exchange, saying she has no personal problem with Nakazibwe.

“That woman has never healed. She should go and talk to her ex-husband who lied to her, and then she will heal.”

Nameere said she is not interested in getting drawn into what she considers unnecessary public exchanges, maintaining that her focus remains on her work and the people she serves.

“I don’t have time to indulge in such useless chatter.”

The minister also highlighted what she described as the motivation behind her work, saying she is encouraged by the praise she receives from her constituents, President Yoweri Museveni, and the wider public.

Nameere said she operates on the basis of truth and pointed to Museveni’s recent remarks during an NRM caucus engagement, where the President praised her honesty.

Her comments come as the old dispute with Nakazibwe briefly returns to the public spotlight, although Nameere maintains that she has no issue with the former television anchor.

For the minister, the matter is not worth her attention, as she says she would rather concentrate on her political responsibilities than revisit an old disagreement.
