Karole Kasita confirms receiving funding from UNMF

She credits Eddy Kenzo for supporting her concert plans

Singer promises fans a thrilling performance on May 29

Ugandan musician Karole Kasita has revealed that she received financial support from the Uganda National Musicians Federation as she prepares for her upcoming concert slated for May 29.

Kasita, popularly known for her hit Yaka and Balance, said the funding came through with the backing of federation president Eddy Kenzo, whom she described as both a leader and a friend. Speaking about the support, the singer said she has no reason to deny the role the federation has played in her preparations.

Her remarks come at a time when some artists, including Ziza Bafana, have criticized Kenzo’s leadership, accusing the federation of making it difficult for musicians to access support.

“I can’t deny that I received support from the federation. When I approached Kenzo, he supported me, and I’m grateful for that,” Kasita said.

She, however, suggested that individual experiences may differ, pointing to patience and approach as key factors in how artists engage with leadership.

“People have different levels of patience. Sometimes you may think someone is being difficult, but it depends on how you handle the situation. That’s why I believe I’ve remained in good standing.”

The “Chekecha” singer added that preparations for her concert are progressing well, with rehearsals set to begin soon. She assured fans that her team is focused on delivering a high-quality show.

Kasita also revealed that she has reached out to fellow artists she has collaborated with, inviting them to perform at the concert — and all have accepted.

She promised fans an energetic and memorable experience, urging them to turn up in large numbers.

With tensions still lingering within the federation, Kasita’s endorsement of Kenzo’s leadership adds a different voice to the ongoing debate in Uganda’s music industry.
