Linus Tats has finally broken his silence following South African artist Scotts Maphuma’s failure to perform at the recently concluded Linus Tattoo Party held at Lugogo Millennium Grounds.

In an official statement released after the event, the organisers revealed that all contractual obligations and payment agreements had been fully settled ahead of the show. Despite this, the artist failed to appear on stage, leaving fans disappointed and affecting the planned entertainment lineup.

Linus Tats expressed regret to fans, sponsors, and partners who turned up in large numbers for the highly anticipated event, emphasizing that the no-show was beyond the organisers’ control.

“We deeply regret the disappointment experienced by our audience on the night. All arrangements for Scotts Maphuma’s performance were completed in good faith, and his non-appearance was beyond our control. We remain committed to delivering quality experiences and ensuring such disruptions are minimized in future events,” part of the statement read.

According to the organisers, the agreed performance package had been fully paid, while additional requests made during the coordination process were also accommodated in an effort to ensure the performance happened smoothly. These reportedly included adjustments to the performance fee and travel arrangements such as business-class considerations for both the artist and members of his management team.

Linus Tats further claimed that even on the night of the event, more financial requests were allegedly made and immediately wired in hopes of securing the performance.

“Despite all arrangements being fulfilled on our side, including a total payment package that had been agreed and completed, the artist did not turn up for the show, did not communicate to fans, and did not offer any public explanation or apology,” the statement added.

Following the incident, the organisers confirmed that the matter has now been handed over to the relevant authorities to seek accountability, including possible recovery of funds and damages caused by the no-show.

Despite the setback, the event still featured performances from several other acts, with attendees praising the production, atmosphere, and overall experience throughout the night.

Linus Tats also thanked sponsors, partners, and supporters for standing with the brand, adding that lessons learned from the incident will help strengthen coordination and improve future editions of the event.

The brand further confirmed that preparations are already underway for upcoming events, promising tighter execution, stronger international collaborations, and an even bigger experience for fans.
