Ugandan singer Dre Cali has opened up about the challenges he faced after relocating from Uganda to Canada, revealing that adjusting to a completely different lifestyle was far from easy.

Speaking about his experience, Dre Cali explained that leaving behind the celebrity life he was accustomed to in Uganda came with a major culture shock.

“As a celebrity back home, when you move to a new place it’s not easy because what you’re used to eventually changes,” he said.

The singer noted that while in Uganda, he rarely worried about money because there was always some form of income coming in, especially from performances and weekend bookings.

He explained that even during slower periods, there would always be opportunities to earn, making it difficult to experience prolonged financial struggles.

Dre Cali also highlighted the difference in day-to-day living, revealing that he had a team back home that handled many responsibilities on his behalf. However, upon moving to Canada, he found himself having to do everything independently.

According to him, taking on all those responsibilities personally was one of the toughest adjustments he had to make.

The singer further pointed out that the way people perceive life in Canada is significantly different from the mindset many people have in Uganda.

“Perception is also different. How we view life in general back home is so different compared to how people in Canada see it,” he explained.
