Musician Nina Roz has opened up about the possibility of converting to Islam, revealing that she could officially join the faith in the future.

The singer, who has previously ventured into politics as a former Sembabule District Woman MP aspirant, said she has grown up and studied around Islam and has developed a strong appreciation for the religion.

According to Nina Roz, her connection to Islam was also influenced by her mentor, a Muslim man from Kibuli, who played a role in her understanding of the faith.

“Yes, I would consider converting to Islam. It’s a really good religion and who knows, maybe soon I’ll decide to officially join it,” Nina Roz said.

She further revealed that she has already thought about the name she would take if she eventually makes the decision to convert.

“If I decided to convert, I would choose the name Husinah, so anytime soon don’t be surprised if I do so,” she added.

Nina Roz explained that her admiration for Islam is largely based on what she considers its emphasis on decent dressing, morals and upright living.

She said she believes that if more people adopted some of the values associated with the religion, they could lead more disciplined and morally upright lives.

“It’s a really good religion and if I could convert all Ugandans to it, I would,” she said.

For now, Nina Roz has not announced that she has formally converted, but her remarks suggest that the possibility remains open.

Her comments have since sparked conversation among her followers, particularly because she has openly spoken about a possible change that would also come with a new name, Husinah.
