Ugandan singer Ronald Alimpa has made an emotional appeal to the public for support after revealing the series of hardships that have left him struggling financially and personally.

In a video shared online, Alimpa said his troubles began after he travelled to perform in Kasanje. According to the singer, he was arrested shortly after completing his performance on allegations of “public nuisance” before he had even received his payment.
“I had finished performing but had not even been paid when I was arrested. We were taken to Sentema, later transferred to Kigo, and after months of moving between detention and court, I was finally released.”
Alimpa said he spent about three months in custody before regaining his freedom. However, returning home only brought more heartbreak.

He explained that his landlord had evicted him over unpaid rent that accumulated while he was in prison. His household belongings were reportedly removed from the house and taken to the area defence secretary, where he says they were damaged due to poor handling.
“When I came back, I found my belongings had been thrown out. Many of my things were damaged, and today I don’t even have a proper phone. I’m asking Ugandans to stand with me.”
The singer says he recently released a new song narrating his life story and the struggles he has endured in recent years.
Alimpa rose to national fame through his hit song “Sean Don”, popularly known as “Lusuku lwa Seminti,” which became one of Uganda’s biggest street anthems and earned him widespread recognition.
His fortunes, however, changed after he survived a tragic road accident that claimed some of the lives of several people travelling with him. Although he survived, he sustained serious injuries that left him bedridden for months, affecting both his music career and family life.
In his latest appeal, Alimpa also called upon fellow singer Bruno K who has been helping many disadvantaged Ugandans via his TikTok initiative dubbed ‘Ekiboozi” and well-wishers across Uganda to support him as he works to rebuild his life.
