The National Unity Platform (NUP) has recorded a major fundraising triumph, collecting over UGX 1 billion in two days from local and international supporters.

Internal disputes have rocked the National Unity Platform (NUP), with accusations that Bobi Wine’s close allies are manipulating candidate selections.

Kadongo Kamu star and Kyengera mayor Sir Mathias Walukaga has officially entered the race for the Busiro East parliamentary seat, challenging incumbent Hon. Medard Ssegona under the NUP banner. His bold move has sparked internal debate in the party, especially amid rising tensions and suspicions about Ssegona’s loyalty to NUP leadership.

Hon. Medard Ssegona has filed his nomination forms with NUP and issued a bold warning to political rivals, saying none are more qualified than him.

Medard Ssegona’s announcement that he will succeed Bobi Wine as NUP leader in 2030 has triggered outrage among supporters who believe the party and Bobi Wine are inseparable.

Following a successful petition by NRM’s Hon. Nambi Faridah Kigonogo, the Kampala High Court has declared the Kawempe North seat vacant.

MP Muhammad Nsereko has lashed out at NUP lawmakers for their walkout during the UPDF Amendment Act session, accusing them of political hypocrisy. He questions their commitment to legislative duties while benefiting from state funding.

Bobi Wine’s NUP continues to grow as seven Members of Parliament defect from FDC, DP, and independent positions to join the party.

“I will not keep quiet anymore,” says Mathias Mpuuga, as he announces plans to sue Bobi Wine over defamation, accusing the NUP leader of betraying party foot soldiers for personal gain.
