Veteran Ugandan singer Master Parrot has reportedly passed on following a tragic road accident along the Kampala Northern Bypass.

According to eyewitness accounts, the musician was knocked by a speeding motorcycle while attempting to cross the busy highway on Monday evening. The incident is said to have occurred in the Masanafu area along the Northern Bypass.

Sources indicate that emergency responders and police officers arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. His remains were later transported to Mulago National Referral Hospital as authorities began investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Born David Sifayo, Master Parrot was one of the pioneers of the Firebase Crew, where he worked alongside notable artistes including Bobi Wine, Sizzaman, Buchaman, Toolman and the late Weatherman. He rose to prominence in Uganda’s music industry through his dancehall and reggae-inspired music and became a familiar name among music lovers in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Master Parrot was best known for songs such as “Muliro,” which remains one of his most memorable releases. Throughout his career, he also spent time with both Firebase and Leone Island before pursuing his solo music journey.

Beyond his music, the singer was regarded as one of the early contributors to Uganda’s modern dancehall movement and was among the artistes who shared stages with some of the country’s biggest music stars during the formative years of the industry.
