Socialite Zari Hassan has urged women to become financially independent, warning against entering relationships with unresolved financial problems and expecting partners to become their financial rescue plan.

While appearing in a TikTok Live video, the mother of five said people should be cautious when dating someone who immediately begins asking for money or sharing unpaid bills.
“If you’ve just started dating a girl and the only thing she talks about is her unpaid bills, ‘I need money for rent,’ ‘I need money for food,’ or ‘can you help me?’ Run. That is a liability. That is a red flag,” Zari said.
She stressed that the same applies to men who enter relationships asking their partners for financial assistance.

According to Zari, women should stop waiting for wealthy men to solve their financial problems and instead work toward having their own money and lives in order.
“Ladies, we are in an era where we’ve stopped looking for rich men. We’ve become the rich wives,” she said.
Zari explained that financial independence gives people the freedom to make choices without constantly relying on someone else.
“There’s nothing as beautiful as having your own shit together. Your bills paid. Knowing that if somebody doesn’t step in to help me, I’ve got this covered,” she said.
However, she clarified that being financially independent does not mean rejecting support from a partner.
Zari said she enjoys it when her husband occasionally pays for things such as her nails, describing such gestures as special because she is not dependent on him for them.
“Money is not everything. Money gives you freedom to live how you want. Money makes life easier, but it’s not everything,” she said.
