Media personality Isaac Daniel Katende, widely known as Kasuku, has shared candid thoughts about his relationship with faith, revealing that while he strongly believes in God, he no longer attends church.

Speaking during an appearance on the Mind Your Head Podcast, hosted by Canary Mugume and Tusiime Sheilah, Kasuku explained that his choice to stay away from church does not mean he has lost his faith.
“I don’t go to church. I pray from home,” he said.
Kasuku went on to explain that his perspective on religion changed during his time working at Red Pepper. According to him, the experiences and stories he encountered while at the publication significantly shaped how he now views some religious leaders.

He said he came across disturbing accounts involving prominent figures in the religious community who, in his view, preached morality in public but behaved very differently behind closed doors.
“During my days at Red Pepper, I heard stories about religious leaders who sexually harassed young boys and impregnated women—even those who weren’t meant to have children—and that didn’t leave me the same,” he explained.
Despite stepping away from church attendance, Kasuku insists that faith is still an important part of his life and his household. He noted that his children are exposed to spiritual teachings at school, which helps provide them with a foundation in faith.
“They’re taught about God, how to pray, and everything at school. My duty is to make sure they’re alive and enjoy a quality life,” he said.
For Kasuku, faith is less about physically attending church and more about personal belief and actions. He believes that maintaining faith in God and helping others matters more than public displays of religiosity.
“The only thing I do is believe in God and pray from wherever I am,” he added.
