Ugandan music star Eddy Kenzo has addressed growing concerns surrounding his interactions with female fans, assuring the public that his wife, Phiona Nyamutoro, fully understands the realities of his celebrity lifestyle.

While appearing on BBS Terefayina, Kenzo explained that Nyamutoro is well-educated and aware of the nature of fame, which often comes with exaggerated fan behavior.

He noted that some fans go as far as creating artificial intelligence (AI) images showing themselves in close or affectionate poses with him—something he says his wife does not take seriously.

According to Kenzo, the real challenge lies closer to home, particularly among people from Masaka, his hometown, who sometimes struggle to separate fact from fiction online. He shared that during his regular weekend visits, locals often approach him with questions about viral images and rumors circulating on social media.

“I am always there on weekends, and they come with photos asking if what they are seeing is true. Some even say they are disappointed,” he said. “But I explain to them that it’s false, especially with AI, and we move on. It’s on me to help them understand that not everything online is real.”

The singer used the opportunity to call on the Ministry of ICT to introduce regulations governing the use of artificial intelligence, warning that the technology is increasingly being misused to misrepresent public figures and mislead audiences.

Kenzo also briefly touched on his much-anticipated wedding to Nyamutoro, following their traditional Kukyala ceremony in 2024. While he did not reveal a specific date, he hinted that plans are still in progress.

“About the wedding, just watch the space,” he said. “We are both here and alive, and we are building ourselves first. The time will come.”
