Ugandan singer Kenneth Mugabi has opened up about his beliefs, revealing that he considers himself spiritual rather than religious because he believes religion is man-made.

Speaking during an interview on KFM Radio, Kenneth explained that spirituality is deeply rooted in African culture and identity, unlike religion which he described as a creation of man.
“Religion is man made. In Africa, we don’t have religion but rather we have spirituality,” he said.

The “Nkwegomba” singer further noted that this mindset has greatly influenced both his personality and music career.
According to him, it is the reason he proudly refers to himself as a cultural ambassador, saying his music is inspired by African traditions, values, and spirituality.
Kenneth Mugabi added that his approach to music goes beyond entertainment, as he aims to preserve and celebrate African identity through his sound and message.
When questioned about whether he would date a religious partner, the singer explained that it would depend on how deeply religious the person is.
“It would depend on the degree of religiousness, because as men we are supposed to teach you and mold you into what we would want,” he explained.
