Veteran Ugandan singer Kazibwe Kapo has revealed that fellow musician Mesach Semakula was allegedly pickpocketed during his maiden concert held at Front Page over the weekend.

The highly attended concert marked a major milestone in Kapo’s music career after spending decades in the entertainment industry. Among the notable guests in attendance was renowned singer Mesach Semakula, who has long been known for supporting fellow musicians and promoting Ugandan music.
Speaking after the event, Kapo disclosed that Semakula reportedly lost about Shs2 million to suspected thieves who were mingling with revelers during the show.
“Mesach Semakula was pickpocketed and lost around Shs2 million. I don’t understand why these thieves keep infiltrating concerts. It is one of the reasons many people have lost interest in attending such events,” Kapo said.

The singer expressed concern over the growing insecurity at entertainment events, noting that incidents of theft continue to tarnish what should otherwise be enjoyable experiences for fans and performers alike.
However, Kapo was quick to add that Semakula was not overly disturbed by the loss, describing the veteran singer as financially stable and suggesting the stolen amount was relatively insignificant to him.

“Mesach is a wealthy man. He simply moved on after losing the money,” Kapo added.
Mesach Semakula has not yet publicly commented on the alleged incident. Nevertheless, Kapo’s revelation has reignited discussions about security at concerts and the need for event organizers to strengthen measures aimed at protecting attendees from criminals.
Meanwhile the concert, which attracted thousands of fans, was largely successful despite the reported incident.
