Musician David Lutalo has shared rare details about his first marriage, revealing both the regrets and lessons that came with it. Known for his strong female fanbase, Lutalo has remained without a publicly known partner for several years, a situation that has often sparked curiosity among fans.

Speaking candidly, the “Kapaapala” hitmaker said he chose to marry early, shortly after arriving in Kampala. According to him, the decision was strategic, aimed at avoiding distractions that could have derailed his budding music career.
“When I came to Kampala, I knew I needed to focus. The women here would have confused me and taken me off track, so I chose to settle down early,” Lutalo explained.
The singer revealed that the marriage lasted about five to six years, during which they had children together. Despite his rising fame at the time, Lutalo emphasized that his success was not the reason for the separation.

“By the time things ended, I already had songs out and had started building my name. It wasn’t about fame—the marriage just didn’t work,” he said.
Even so, Lutalo describes the experience as a meaningful chapter in his life. He credits it with teaching him valuable lessons and shaping his outlook on relationships.
Today, he says he is more self-aware and grounded, noting that he can no longer be easily swayed. While the marriage ended, he remains grateful for the children it brought into his life and the memories shared.
Lutalo added that when he moves on, he does so fully, choosing not to dwell on the past but to carry forward only the lessons that matter.
