Music producer D’Mario has praised singer and songwriter Dokta Brain, also known as Dorkey, describing him as one of the most talented yet underappreciated figures in Uganda’s music industry.

Speaking during an interview on Galaxy TV’s Mix with Roger Otis, D’Mario was asked which artistes he has found easiest to work with. He singled out Dokta Brain, praising his speed, perfectionism and songwriting ability.
According to D’Mario, Dokta Brain rarely spends a long time working on a song, with some tunes taking him less than 30 minutes to complete.
“He is a perfectionist and works very quickly. He doesn’t even take over 30 minutes on a song,” D’Mario said.

The producer added that Dokta Brain has quietly remained an important figure in Uganda’s music industry, contributing to several popular songs as both a songwriter and artiste.
Dokta Brain has built a reputation as a talented songwriter and musician, penning songs and contributing to some of the popular ballads heard on the Ugandan music scene over the years. He is now preparing for his debut concert, scheduled for September at Skyz Hotel, Naguru.
D’Mario also praised King Saha, describing him as another exceptional artiste he has worked with. He noted that Saha constantly explores new creative directions rather than restricting himself to one particular genre.
“Whenever Saha starts jotting down a song, I see another direction. He is not always pinned in one genre; he is always looking to diversify,” he said.
Meanwhile, D’Mario reflected on his own journey into music production. Having grown up in Kasese, he said his interest was nurtured by a local gospel producer before he began spending holidays in Kampala with veteran producer Dr Fizol, who became one of his major inspirations to pursue music professionally.
