Hundreds of young people gathered at Philip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday to celebrate the 78th birthday of Uganda’s First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Museveni, through a sports gala organized by Gen Z for Gen7, a youth movement under her patronage.

The event brought together participants in soccer, American football, and lacrosse competitions, creating a lively atmosphere aimed at promoting unity, discipline, teamwork, and healthy living among young people from different backgrounds.
It was graced by Brig. Gen. Charity Bainababo and State Minister for Sports Peter Ogwang, who joined the youth in recognizing the First Lady’s contribution to education, youth empowerment, and national development.
Participants under Gen Z for Gen7 described the celebration as a tribute to a leader they regard as an inspiration to Uganda’s young generation, highlighting her long-standing commitment to education, moral leadership, and expanding opportunities for youth.
