Newly crowned Miss Universe Uganda 2026, Mitchelle Daka, has promised Ugandans that her reign is only just beginning, revealing that she has “really, really big plans” following her historic victory.

Speaking during an appearance on NRG Radio, the beauty queen expressed excitement about the journey ahead and assured supporters that they should expect much more than the crown.

“Honestly, a lot. Definitely stay tuned. We have some really, really big plans,” Daka said when asked what Ugandans should expect from her reign.

She added that her immediate focus is preparing for the global Miss Universe competition, where she hopes to compete confidently against contestants from around the world.

“The first step we’re going to start with is training, for sure. I need to be able to compete with those girls that spin in the air. That’s why they wear 20-inch heels. And they’re already tall,” she joked.

It should be noted that Daka overcame stiff competition from several contestants, particularly first runner-up Kimberly Jarel, to be crowned the inaugural Miss Universe Uganda. Her victory also earned her the honour of becoming Uganda’s first-ever representative under the Miss Universe Uganda franchise, marking a new chapter for the country’s participation in one of the world’s biggest beauty pageants.

During the interview, the NRG Radio team also welcomed Daka with a framed portrait to congratulate her on the milestone, a gesture she warmly appreciated.
