Singer Irene Namatovu has revealed that her husband, musician Geoffrey Lutaaya, fulfilled all the promises he made to her while they were dating, despite initially doubting whether he would keep them.

Namatovu said Lutaaya was clear about his intentions from the beginning, telling her that he wanted her to become his future wife and the mother of his children.
“At first I thought he was lying to me because they were too many and big,” she said, adding that her husband had also promised to make her extremely happy—a promise she says he has kept throughout their years of dating and marriage.
The singer also revealed that Lutaaya played a major role in shaping her music career. At the time, Namatovu was more focused on traditional dance and had not given singing much attention.

According to her, Lutaaya encouraged her to venture into music because he wanted them to build businesses and careers that would allow both of them to contribute financially to their family.
“He told me that he wanted us to have business together so that we both bring in income that’d keep our family moving when he suggested that I add singing to my career,” she narrated.
