Media personality Stella Nante has announced her departure from Nation Media Group’s NTV, bringing her two-year journey with the broadcaster and popular morning show Mwasuze Mutya to an end.

According to a statement released on her X page, Nante revealed that September 1, 2026, was her final day on the show, as she closes what she described as an important chapter of her career.

“Today, I close one chapter of my career with gratitude, pride and no regrets.”

Nante said her decision to leave the show was reached about two months ago after giving careful thought to the direction she wanted her career to take.

“Leaving Mwasuze Mutya is therefore not a departure from growth, but a step into another phase of it.”

She expressed gratitude to Nation Media Group, NTV and Spark TV for giving her the opportunity, exposure and platform to grow as a media practitioner.

Nante also thanked the audience that welcomed her into their homes every morning, as well as the guests, sponsors, partners, production crew and colleagues who contributed to the success of Mwasuze Mutya.

“I leave with nothing but gratitude for the opportunity to have worked with what I consider the best media enterprise in Uganda — Nation Media Group.”

The media personality said she is currently pursuing several new career trajectories but is not yet ready to reveal all the details.

“There is much more ahead, and while I may not be ready to share all the details just yet, I am excited about the trajectories I am stepping into and what they hold for the future.”

Nante joined NTV at a time when the station had a significant gap to fill following the departure of renowned media personality Faridah Nakazibwe. Her arrival attracted attention, given the expectations surrounding the morning show, but she quickly established herself and went on to make Mwasuze Mutya her own.

For many viewers, Nante successfully stepped into a demanding role and lived up to the expectations that came with succeeding one of the show’s most recognisable former hosts.

It is not yet known who NTV will bring in to fill the void left by Nante on Mwasuze Mutya.

For now, Nante leaves NTV after two memorable years, with her next career move still under wraps.
