  • Ykee Benda criticized the growing violence among Ugandan musicians.
  • The singer warned that gangs linked to artists could lead to serious injuries or deaths.
  • He urged musicians to settle rivalries through music instead of physical confrontations.

Ykee Benda has weighed in on the growing violence and tensions within Uganda’s music industry following the recent clash involving King Saha and Pallaso.

Speaking about the ongoing fights between musicians and their camps, the Mpaka Records boss said the situation is becoming dangerous and could eventually lead to serious injuries or even loss of life if it is not addressed early enough.

According to Ykee Benda, many artists seem to forget that the people making up these gangs are somebody’s children with families that care about them. He questioned how musicians would explain themselves to parents if one of their supporters ended up badly injured during these violent confrontations.

“Fights won’t solve anything. Artists should instead compete in the studio by releasing good music because that’s how the industry used to grow back in the day,” Ykee Benda said.

The singer further noted that violence only damages the image of the entertainment industry and shifts attention away from talent and creativity. He urged musicians to focus on making music instead of fueling unnecessary rivalries and street-style confrontations.

His comments come at a time when fans and industry stakeholders have expressed concern over the increasing feuds between artists, warning that the situation could hurt Uganda’s entertainment scene if left unchecked.

Ykee Benda said he hopes the trend comes to an end soon before it completely overshadows the progress the music industry has made over the years. The Farma singer also added that he wishes one of these artists suffers an injury from these scuffles so lessons can be picked up
