The famous “Hoozambe” artist, D-Star Music, has sparked debate after claiming that Kapeke is still an upcoming musician despite the recognition he has received in Uganda’s music industry.

Speaking during an interview on Galaxy TV, D-Star expressed his frustration with people who name artists like Kapeke “Artist of the Year,” arguing that such recognition is being given to musicians who, in his view, have not yet reached that level.
“Which songs did he even sing?” he questioned, adding that there are different levels in music and that he intends to show the industry what he considers to be real music.
D-Star also referenced the late singer Radio Mowzey, recalling his emphasis on artists learning and understanding music. He criticised Kapeke’s musical style, claiming that he repeatedly uses the same beat in his songs, making his music monotonous.
