Jowy Landa has opened up about the difficult circumstances she went through during the COVID-19 lockdown, revealing that her former manager turned her into a “house wife” while she was only 19 years old.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Allan Cruz on the Cruz Xclusive YouTube channel, Jowy explained that she had changed management shortly before the pandemic hit, leaving her career at a standstill for nearly a year.
“Imagine you’ve just changed management then Covid hits for about a year and you’ve not released any new music,” she shared.
With movement restricted and no music being released, Jowy said she found herself performing household duties she had never done before. She had to learn how to cook, wash dishes and do laundry despite having no prior experience.

“I cooked, did the dishes, the laundry too and even got wounds on my hands,” she recalled.
The artist said the experience was particularly difficult because she was just 19 at the time and had never lived through anything similar. At one point, she considered leaving and returning to her mother, but the lockdown restrictions made it impossible for her to travel.
She also revealed that her time with the former manager involved domestic violence, claiming that she was physically assaulted.
“My mum even reached an extent and wanted to arrest them because the worst part was that they used to hit me too which was crazy,” she narrated.
Reflecting on how far she has come since then, Jowy asked people not to judge her based on where she is today without understanding the struggles she endured along the way.
She pointed to her current ability to financially support her mother as a sign of her growth, saying she can now confidently send her UGX 1 million.
For her, the experience remains part of the difficult journey she had to endure before getting to where she is today.
