Cindy Sanyu says she never performs before receiving full payment.

She believes artists lose leverage once they step on stage unpaid.

Cindy urged promoters to honor agreements following the recent Spice Diana incident.

Musician Cindy Sanyu has opened up about the strict rule she follows when dealing with event promoters and performance bookings.

The Boom Party singer revealed that she never steps onto the stage before receiving her full payment, saying the policy has helped her avoid misunderstandings and financial disputes.

According to Cindy, allowing a performance to go on before clearing the balance weakens an artist’s bargaining power and can leave them struggling to recover their money later.

“My microphone and stage performance are my strongest weapons when it comes to getting paid. Once I perform before receiving my money, chances are I may never get it,” Cindy explained.

The self-styled “King Herself” said she would rather disappoint fans temporarily than risk public conflict with promoters over unpaid dues. If the agreed payment has not been completed, she said she openly apologizes to fans and explains why she cannot proceed with the show.

“It becomes embarrassing when artists are seen scuffling with organizers over money. I make sure my balance is zero before I step on stage,” she added.

Cindy also noted that taking promoters to court is rarely the best solution in the entertainment industry. She argued that promoters often act as important connections who can either book artists again or recommend them for future opportunities.

Because of this, she believes disputes should be settled professionally and outside legal battles whenever possible.

Her remarks followed the recent incident involving fellow singer Spice Diana, who was seen leaving a venue with sound equipment during a disagreement with event organizers. Cindy said promoters should honor agreements to avoid situations that damage both artists’ brands and the industry’s image.
