Veteran actor and radio personality Abby Mukiibi has called on people to take responsibility for their schedules, arguing that rain should never be used as an excuse for failing to show up to work on time.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mukiibi shared that he has spent years working at CBS Radio without being provided with a car, yet he has always made an effort to report to work.

“I have worked for all the years at CBS Radio and I’ve never been given a car, don’t I show up?,” he said.

Mukiibi questioned why employees would use bad weather as a reason for arriving late, especially when they are expected to be at work at a particular time.

“How? Why would you give me that as a reason?” he questioned.

According to the veteran, people should plan ahead and find ways to honor their commitments instead of relying on circumstances such as rain to justify lateness.

He extended the same principle to the acting industry, saying actors should not use bad weather as an excuse for failing to arrive on time for performances.

Mukiibi noted that when an actor is scheduled to perform, fans make an effort to attend the show regardless of the weather. He therefore believes it is unfair for performers to arrive late and blame the weather when their audience has already gathered.

“How do you say you weren’t able to come on time because of the weather yet the fans are already here waiting for you?” he asked.

While his comments may come across as harsh, Mukiibi clarified that he is not being rude but is simply a principled person who values discipline, commitment and working according to schedule.

For him, professionalism means showing up and honoring one’s responsibilities even when circumstances are not ideal.
