Musician Fille Mutoni has revealed that she does not own a personal mobile phone, a disclosure that has surprised many of her fans given her status in the music industry. In a space where celebrities are often associated with luxury gadgets and constant online presence, Fille’s reality is strikingly different.

According to the singer, the decision not to own a phone was made on medical advice as part of her recovery journey from severe drug addiction. She explained that her therapist recommended limiting exposure to potential triggers that could lead to cravings and relapse. As a result, all her work-related communication is handled through her baby daddy and manager, Edwin Katamba, popularly known as MC Kats.
“I don’t even watch documentaries that show drugs or cigarettes,” Fille said. “Those small things can trigger cravings and wake up the lion in me, and that’s something I work hard to avoid.”
While appearing on a podcast hosted by content creator Zubeda, Fille also spoke about the emotional isolation many musicians face behind the scenes. She noted that despite having millions of followers and loud cheers on stage, many artists struggle with loneliness once the spotlight fades.

She explained that after performances, musicians often return home to silence, with very few people genuinely checking on their well-being. According to Fille, if it is not a parent, many artists have no one they can openly talk to or find comfort in. She further revealed that some family members even view entertainers as money-making machines rather than individuals who need emotional support.
Fille Mutoni’s story highlights a harsh but often ignored reality in the entertainment industry—fame does not always translate to fulfillment or genuine human connection. Having battled addiction in the past, the singer has been steadily recovering over the years and continues to prioritize her mental health and sobriety.
