- Eddy Kenzo will not attend the 2026 Grammy Awards due to unavoidable personal commitments.
- The singer is nominated for Best African Music Performance for Hope & Love, his second Grammy nod.
- Despite his absence, Kenzo’s international management team will represent him at the global event.
Ugandan music heavyweight Eddy Kenzo has confirmed he won’t be attending the upcoming Grammy Awards, citing pressing personal matters he says he simply can’t put on hold. While missing out on the ceremony is disappointing, the singer made it clear that the nomination itself means a lot to him and remains a major career milestone.

Kenzo is nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for Hope & Love, a collaboration with Iranian-Swedish artist Mehran Matin.
It’s his second time earning a Grammy nod, following his groundbreaking 2023 nomination for Gimme Love with American singer Matt B — a moment that saw him become the first Ugandan artist ever recognised by the Recording Academy.
The 68th Grammy Awards are set for February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with comedian Trevor Noah returning as host for his sixth and final time. As always, the ceremony will be broadcast live worldwide and is expected to draw massive global attention as music’s biggest night.
