- Alien Skin says he remains Uganda’s top artist despite recent airwave dominance by others.
- He claims hit songs are not necessary for his influence or industry leadership.
- The Fangone Forest boss describes himself as the “diameter” and benchmark for all musicians.
Fangone Forest frontman Alien Skin has once again stirred conversation in Uganda’s music circles after boldly declaring that he remains the country’s number one artist — regardless of recent chart performance.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Sanyuka TV, the controversial party singer dismissed claims that his dominance depends on releasing hit songs. According to Alien Skin, his influence on the industry goes far beyond airplay and trending tracks.
“I don’t need a hit song to be on top. The fact is every artist wants to be like me — that alone keeps me number one,” he said.
The “Fangone First Boss” explained that his brand, style, and movement have set the pace for many upcoming and established musicians, arguing that his impact is what defines greatness.

“I set myself as the diameter that everyone measures themselves against. I am the bar — whether they like it or not,” Alien Skin added.
He further noted that artists attempting to prove they are better are doing so in vain because, in his view, there is no higher standard beyond him. The singer said he is often amused — and even pleased — when he hears of industry peers plotting to take over the music scene.
Despite his confidence, Alien Skin has not dominated airwaves in recent months, with several other artists currently enjoying stronger rotation and streaming numbers. Questions have also emerged about whether he still commands the same star power he held at the peak of his breakout run.
However, Alien Skin remains unfazed by the chatter, insisting that his position at the top of Uganda’s entertainment hierarchy is intact — hit song or not.
