- Pallaso views politics as a high-risk career with constant public scrutiny.
- He fears reputational damage and lack of trust within political spaces.
- The singer prefers to influence change through music rather than active politics.
Ugandan musician Pallaso has opened up about why he has no plans to venture into politics, despite his influence and past political affiliations. Speaking during a TikTok interview, the self-styled “King of the East” described politics as a high-risk field that he would rather avoid.

According to Pallaso, politics comes with constant pressure and uncertainty, comparing it to dangerous professions like electricity installation. While acknowledging that all careers carry some level of risk, he emphasized that politics presents a unique kind of exposure where one’s downfall can happen at any moment.
“Politics is a very risky job. Your downfall is always just a stone’s throw away,” Pallaso said.
He further explained that the nature of political engagement exposes leaders to endless public scrutiny and debate from all kinds of people. This, he noted, can be mentally draining and damaging to one’s public image.

“There are all types of people—both fools and intelligent ones—who will always want to debate with you. Some will drag you down to their level, and you can’t avoid it,” he added.
Pallaso also expressed concern about trust issues within political spaces, noting how quickly reputations can be tarnished by allegations of bribery or manipulation, even among close associates. For him, preserving his brand and peace of mind remains a priority.
While he has previously shown support for Bobi Wine and worked alongside artists like Sheebah Karungi and Eddy Kenzo on industry matters such as the copyright amendment bill, Pallaso maintains that his role is better suited outside active politics.
For now, the singer says he will continue focusing on music while contributing to national issues from a non-political standpoint.
