- Ronald Mayinja has praised King Saha’s massive Kololo concert.
- He says Saha achieved what previous generations of musicians could not.
- The concert has sparked debate over its place among East Africa’s biggest music events.
Veteran singer Ronald Mayinja has hailed fellow musician King Saha’s recently concluded concert at Kololo Airstrip as one of the biggest music events ever staged in Uganda and East Africa.

The “Tuli Ku Bunke,” said Saha had achieved something that musicians of previous generations could only have imagined, particularly given the scale of the event and the way it was organized and promoted.
“What Saha has done is something no one has ever done in Uganda and East Africa at large. I have always said that the musicians who came after us would do things that even we never did.”
According to Mayinja, even Uganda’s biggest musical legends would have needed to work together and invest heavily in promotion to attract such a massive crowd.

“Even the legendary musicians, for us, would have had to come together as musicians and advertise for a very long time to fill a venue like Nakivubo. But Saha filled this stadium, organized it, announced it and did everything. That is legendary.”
Mayinja said the achievement demonstrates the growing influence and ambition of Uganda’s current generation of musicians, adding that such milestones are exactly what the industry should be celebrating.
The veteran singer also praised Saha’s talent, saying the feat could not have happened to a more deserving artiste.
Saha’s Kololo concert has since been widely touted as one of Uganda’s biggest concerts, although debate continues over whether it ranks among the biggest ever staged in East Africa.
