Musician Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi, has weighed in on changing attitudes towards marriage, arguing that men nowadays appear less interested in settling down compared to women.

The “Lo Fit” singer said women are often blamed for the decline in marriage, yet she believes men also play a major role in the growing reluctance to commit to marriage.

Azawi made the remarks while appearing on Sabrina Agasha’s podcast, where she discussed relationships, fame and some of the things she misses about living a normal life.

“Men nowadays do not want to get married. However much you people like to pin it on women, women don’t want to get married. But at the end of the day, it’s the ultimate goal,” Azawi said.

She added that despite the changing attitudes, marriage remains an important goal for many people.

The musician also opened up about some of her most memorable moments, naming the day she signed with Swangz Avenue as one of the best days of her life.

“The day I got signed to Swangz, that will always be a special day,” she said.

Additionally, Azawi spoke about the challenges that come with being a public figure, particularly the loss of the freedom to move around unnoticed.

She said she misses being able to casually walk around without attracting attention, explaining that her celebrity status has made her more selective about going out.

“Of course you miss normal life, just having a casual walk on the streets. Not having that too much attention,” she said.

Azawi noted that even when she visits popular hangout spots, she often notices people watching her, something she said contributes to her decision to avoid going out frequently.

The singer said she sometimes wishes she could simply enjoy public spaces without constantly being recognised as Azawi.
